The object goes back in the case. The record does not — it travels with the item, past the shop, the sale and the owner.

A NEXUS Data and Provenance Record: front and back images of the object, particulars of record, condition measurements, a registry number and a Polygon ERC-721 line. — Format specimen, shown on a card — the same record is produced for a coin, a watch, a signed ball, a handbag.
